Chanel Aqualumiere Lip Gloss ($44.00AUD) ★★★★★
I LOVE Chanel’s Aqualumiere lipglosses…Diamond Rose, Candy Glow and Freeze are some of my favourites but Aqualumiere glosses are all beautiful. The colours are sheer, feel smooth over the lips and accentuate the lipstick/lip pencil underneath. I recommend matching these with their accompanying Aqualumiere lipsticks.

Chanel Base Lumiere Primer Base ($69.00AUD) ★★★★
Base Lumiere is a little pricey for a primer. Whilst does hold the foundation / base for many hours and it does keep the skin looking smooth, it is not any better than others out there. However, I like the consistency of the product and the way it blends in to the skin with ease, making makeup application a lot easier.

Chanel Estompe Eclat Concealer Stick ($50.00AUD) ★★★½
Estompe Eclat is a creamy stick concealer which is great to use around the eyes to cover dark circles and also great for covering any blemishes on the skin. At first it feels quite thick and gluggy but blend it between your fingertips to warm it up and make it creamy.

Chanel Eclat Lumiere Highlighter Concealer ($60.00AUD) ★★★★
Eclat Lumiere is a beautiful liquid concealer and is so easy to apply. With a flick of the top, the concealer glides out onto the brush and can be applied directly to the skin. I keep this in my makeup kit at all times and my clients love it too.

Chanel Exceptionnel de Chanel Mascara ($50.00) ★★★½
Exceptionnel de Chanel comes in waterproof and non-waterproof as well as a range of subtle shades including navy blue and deep purple. The difference is in the nifty wand which has 3 brushes and 3 combs rolled into one. It is designed to give you curl and thickness without the clump and while it gave me full lashes, I did not really find it to curl and can be a little tricky when you are time poor. TIP: Roll the brush outwards as you apply.

Chanel Inimitable Mascara ($50.00AUD) ★★★★★
Inimitable is gorgeous for a natural all-round 4D lash effect: length, curl, volume & separation. It gives you ultra long lashes – even if you have short/fair lashes Inimitable will amaze you! Try it now because this prestige mascara is so popular because the mascara does what it claims.

Chanel Le Blanc de Chanel Primer Base ($63.00) ★★★★
Le Blanc de Chanel is Chanel’s newst primer which helps to illuminate and prepare the skin for its base. The illuminiser is subtle but brightens the skin’s appears (great for tired skin). I would not recommend it for those who are quite oily as it sits better on normal to dry skin.

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadows ($95.00AUD) ★★★½

Les 4 Ombres are beautifully packaged and the shades all compliment one another beautifully. The lightest shade is for the brow bone, the deeper shades for the crease (definition) and the lighter one for the entire eyelid. I do not find the colours strong enough as they are not highly pigmented and would not purchase in future for this reason.

Chanel Mat Lumiere Long Lasting Mat Fluid ($69.00AUD) ★★★★½
Mat Lumiere fluid foundation is part of Chanel’s line designed for a matte, no-shine finish. It is excellent for oily/shiny skin and does not look or feel drying as it still keeps the skin hydrated and smooth. The price is really good too.

Chanel Mat Lumiere Matte Foundation Powder ($94.00AUD) ★★★★½

I love this powder! Mat Lumiere Powder can be used wet or dry to give you the coverage YOU want. Because this is a build able coverage, you can use lightly with a brush or a sponge for more coverage/colour. A little goes a long way and it lasts on the skin for hours. Unfortunately Australia does not sell refills but you can get them from StrawberryNET.

Chanel Poudre Cristalline Loose Powder ($82.00AUD)★
Poudre Cristalline is a white setting face powder which is translucent and really sheer but I find that it makes the face appear white / light and need a fair bit of blending. I prefer a translucent loose powder or a pressed powder to finish. It is not worth its retail price.

Chanel Poudre Universelle Compact ($84.00AUD) ★★★★

Poudre Universelle is a lovely sheer translucent face powder which sets your foundation and prepares your base for blush and shadows. However, the price is a little exxy and for those who are seeking a foundation powder, they will find this too sheer. The colours suit most skin types but there is a big shade difference between #30 Naturel and #40 Dore.

Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre Loose Powder ($68.00AUD) ★★★★
Poudre Universelle Libre is a lovely lightweight translucent face powder which helps to set foundation and stop excess shine. The price is a little too high for my liking but the product is very good and comes in a range of shades to suit various skintones.

Chanel Precision Beaute Initiale Eye Gel ($86.00AUD) ★★★★½

Beaute Initiale Eye Gel ($86.00) is gorgeous. It is a gentle, cooling gel which is designed to fight the first signs of aging, energise the skin, reduce puffiness & dark circles and hydrate. Highly recommended.

Chanel Precision Sublimage Eye Creme ($220.ooAUD) ★★★★★
Chanel’s Sublimage Eye Creme is the ultimate luxurious indulgence – and we should all own one! Sublimage Eye is a rich, creamy texture which contains Vanilla Planifola PFA and is designed to firm, hydrate, reduce pigmentation and fight the signs of ageing. I love it…but I hope my jar never runs out as I don’t like forking out that kind of money!

Chanel Prolumiere Professional Finish Foundation ($82.00AUD) ★★★★½
ProLumiere is a hard working, medium coverage foundation designed to stay on (and look great) all day. It provides a medium to full buildable dewy coverage, which is why makeup artists use it for models and weddings.

Chanel Rouge Allure Lip Colour ($48.00AUD) ★★★★

I love Chanel’s choice of colours in their Rouge Allure range. The satin finish is creamy and smooth on the lips and the ‘click of seduction’ pop lid is a conversation starter. Beautiful.

Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Powder ($75.00AUD) ★★★★
I love the whole kit and caboodle with this bronzer! Soleil Tan de Chanel’s bronzer design looks like the desert sand, the powder hydrates as it glides across the skin, the shades are very natural and look great on any skin tone, and the brush has two sides: one for contouring and one for colour across the face. PERFECT!

Chanel Teint Innocence Creme Compact SPF10 ($94.00AUD) ★★★★
Teint Innocence Creme Foundation is a great foundation for those who like to touch up on the go. It provides the fullest coverage in the whole Chanel foundation range. I love to use it as a concealer due to its thickness. Although it is thick it is very smooth, creamy and hydrating so the formula looks very natural on application.

Chanel Teint Innocence Fluid Foundation SPF12 ($69.00AUD) ★★★★
Teint Innocence liquid foundation is a light yet dewy foundation that feels super light on the skin, looks really natural and smells like baby talc powder (yum) but for a sensitive skin this scent could irritate. I love this for makeup-free days or when my skin needs to breathe.

Chanel Vitalumiere Satin Smoothing Creme Makeup ($94.00AUD) ★★★★★
This is a beautiful dewy cream foundation which provides excellent coverage and helps to conceal large pores as well as fine lines and wrinkles. It is a very hydrating foundation but the product is quite pricey.

Chanel Vitalumiere Satin Smoothing Foundation ($82.00AUD) ★★★★½
For $82 you might think this is a little expensive, but wait until you see the results. This little beauty works wonders! Vitalumiere is an anti-fatigue foundation which offers a light to medium coverage and looks beautiful and naturally dewy. One of my favourites and clients love it.

Bumble and bumble Blondish Hair Powder Spray ($72.00AUD) ★
I saw Bumble and bumble’s products advertised in magazines and decided to replace my Klorane dry shampoo with this overly expensive alternative… I wish I did not try it because it only left a mess on my bathroom tiles and left my hair a dark blonde/light brown shade rather than the light blonde it is. My hair was patchy, the coloured powder was flying everywhere and the nozzle was spitting. I persisted once more and then returned it the next day.

bod Organic Rice Body Scrub ($29.95AUD) ★★★
I love this! It smells so uplifting and makes me skin feel soft and smooth after use. The products are all natural and I love the scent of the natural ingredients. It is a good buy but my only complaint is that the product leaves a residue on the skin that does not rinse off with warm/hot water and is hard to remove and it gets caught in my body sponge which makes it look gross and leaves a film in it. The packaging is nice and the product is easy to use

Be Genki Reviews

Be Genki Sensuality Body Oil ($32.00AUD) ★
I purchased this after using Be Genki’s Sensuality Face Mist and I chose Sensuality because I loved the name and the description of ingredients – but I am disappointed with this product. The scent reminds me of fly spray and when I applied it to my legs, the scent just lingered on making me feel dirty. Sadly, not a fan of the Sensuality collection at all.

Be Genki Serenity Face Mist ($26.00AUD) ★★★★★
When this arrived in the mail I was in dire straights and desperate for a new toner/spritz mist. Be Genki Serenity Face Mist is BLISS. The natural ingredients brought me to a new level within myself as it contains Rosewood, Bergamot, Neroli and Rose Otto. It is a terrific product to spritz on hot days, to freshen your makeup and for relaxation before going to bed. It has left my skin feeling very hydrated and smooth, my skin has improved just from using it and I have only started a few weeks ago. The value for money is excellent as a little goes such a long way. A few sprays takes you to heaven…and then brings you back to reality. FIVE stars.

Be Genki Vitality Body Cream ($32.00AUD) ★★★★
Vitality Body Cream smells great and absorbs in to the skin really quickly however it is not as rich as it claims to be, mine is more watery than thick and creamy (which I associate with the term ‘rich’) but it is a lovely product. I like the tidy, recyclable packaging as well as the convenient spatula which makes the product more hygienic. Four out of five hearts

Avene Reviews

Avene Skin Recovery Cream ★★★★★
I love this cream, it is ideal for sensitive and dry, parched skin. When my skin feels hot and irritated in the summer months, I found this worked wonders, leaving my skin soothed. My favourite Avene product.

Avene Spring Water Spray ★★★★
What a lovely hydrating skin mist, although a little pricey for what it is (water). I like the small size as it fits into your handbag, beach bag and in to your glove box. Refreshing and stops your face from feeling tight.

APIVITA Aqua Vita Day Cream – Normal to Dry Skin ($54.95 AUD) ★★★★
I have never used APIVITA – until I tried the Aqua Vita moisturiser. As I have normal to dry skin this was the perfect sample to receive coming out of winter because my skin is dry and tight if I do not use hydrating and soothing products. Although the sample only last three applications, I thought the texture and consistency of the product was smooth and not too thick. The scent was very mild and I could not smell honey as originally expected. The product feels nice on the skin and did not leave a residue either. A few extra samples would have determined how well it works on my skin.

Aesop Reviews

Aesop Rejuvenate Aromatique Body Balm ($24.90AUD) ★★★★

This is a gorgeous hand cream – the smell, the texture and the whole experience is fantastic. However, the product does not absorb as well as I was hoping and it leaves hands with a slightly greasy residue which is inconvenient. I love the product, but the packaging is not very nice (I hate tubes that crumple and look unappealing as the product is used up).

Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm Tube ($31.50+AUD)★★★
Wow…I love this product! The smell is gorgeous, the feel is smooth and silky and it hydrates for hours on end. My legs are begging for more! This product is a great way to introduce me to the Aesop range.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm ($60.00AUD)
(currently trialling)

Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel ($48.00AUD) ★★½
I was so excited to try this product after feeling it on my hand and hearing the wonderful things about it. And, it is designed for all skin types. However, it did not feel as though it foamed up for me or gave me a proper cleanse and so I finished with my regular cleanser.

Benefit Cosmetics Reviews

Benefit 10 Bronzer & Highlighter  ($49.50AUD) ★★★★½
’10′ is a gorgeous bronzer and highlighter in one, the price is really reasonable and the results are beautiful. It is such an easy-to-use, two-in-one product and looks gorgeous everytime.

Benefit Benetint ($53.00AUD) ★★½
Unfortunately for me, I found Benetint very messy and it really is a stain so you need to work it into the cheeks quickly. I personally prefer to use a powder or cream blush for a more natural look with 1/3 of the mess involved.

Benefit Browzings – Brow Shaping Kit ($53.00AUD) ★★½
Brow Zings is designed to fill in your brows with a coloured powder and set them with a shaded wax but I found it did not work effectively. Each time I tried to apply I ended up in a mess and the cute little brushes included just did not help. Sadly was not for me.

Benefit Eyecon Eye Cream ($53.00AUD) ★★★½
Benefit’s Eyecon Eye Cream is quite nice. It is well priced but still a little expensive for what it is worth. I did not find it helped to erase dark circles as it promised but the packaging is really lovely and the cream feels nice on the skin. Towards the end of the product the smell did change as the product started to turn.

Benefit Her Glossiness Ultra Shine Gloss ($32.00AUD) ★½
I am not a fan of Her Glossiness glosses. I prefer shades with shimmers or flickers of other colours through them, while these are very monotone and on the sticky side too. The colour choice is also a little blase.

Benefit High Beam ($42.00)  ★★★★½
I LOVE High Beam! It looks amazing in photos, feels light and airy on the skin and gives the skin a natural glow. As a make-up artist, I recommend this creamy luminiser to all (brides and models love it).

Benefit Honey … Snap Out Of It Face Scrub ($50.00) ★★★½
I love the smell of this product (but it can become a little overpowering). The product is a little harsh and I would not recommend it for a sensitive skin but would recommend for an oily skin type, using only once or twice a week. I did not mind it but have tried better. The packaging is nice and simple.

Benefit Lemon-aid Colour Correcting Eyelid Primer ($35.00AUD) ★★★★½
What a great idea! Lemon Aid conceals the purple/blue shades on your eyelids and evens out the eye area skin tone completely! After years of me staring at myself in the mirror wishing there was a solution, it was available the whole time! It can be worn underneath makeup or on its own for when you want to be a natural beauty. Highly recommended.

Benefit Non-Fiction Liquid Foundation ($51.00AUD) ★½
I found Non Fiction (Chapter 2) to be very greasy on my skin. It did not feel pleasant, made me look oily, and constantly had me touching up with powder and checking to make sure it was not ‘melting off’. I could not wait to finish using it up and I would not use again.

Benefit Speed Brow – Quick-Set Brow Gel ($30.00AUD) ★★★★★
I have stray brows and have started using Benefit’s Speed Brow for the past fortnight to help tame them and keep them in place … I am hooked on this product now! It is so quick and easty to use, the packaging is convenient enough to keep in the handbag and it does not create a dandruff/clogged appearance of the brows. It is also really good value for the price you pay and a little swipe goes a long way. I recommend it to anyone else with stray or furrowing eyebrows to keep them in place and help to frame the brows and I love the packaging too!

A’kin Reviews

Posted by: Spoilt on: October 26, 2009

akinlogoA’Kin 24-Hour Pure Moisture Unscented is a lovely cream which is super light and very gentle which makes it perfect for sensitive or hot-to-touch skin (like mine). As it is unscented, you will not be whisked away to a place of paradise but 24-Hour Pure Moisture is a lovely hydrating moisturiser which is not too rich and therefore perfect for summer. A’Kin is very well priced too. My only complaint? The nozzle where the cream comes out of split and so I was squeezing the product out of the split rather than the nozzle.

A’kin 24-Hour Pure Moisture Unscented ($36.95AUD) ★★★★★

A’kin Lavender Cellular Brightening Facial Mist ($19.95 AUD) ★★★★★
I am not usually a fan of lavendar but I really like this! I use this twice daily (and have done for the past two months now). I love the scent, the refreshing and calming sensation it gives my skin and the way it prevents my skin from feeling tight after cleansing. It is still half full so the product lasts a while and it is so affordable too. I love it and would recommend it to others.

A’kin Lavender Hand Nail & Cuticle Cream ($16.95 AUD)★★★★★
I LOVE A’Kin’s Lavender Hand & Nail Creme. It smells divine, feels amazing and it has really healed my dry, chapped hands. I love the fact that A’Kin is made from naturally derived products and the packaging is recyclable. A little goes a long way too.

A’kin Rosehip & Shea Moisture Anti-oxidant Complex ($39.95 AUD) ★★★★
After receiving a sample of this moisturiser, I am very interested in this product. Although it only gave me a few tries, I found the product was lovely and hydrating (just what my skin needs coming out of winter). It smells lovely and feels really nice on the skin – cool and non-irritating. I love the fact Anti-Oxidant Moisture is a natural product that is affordable and provides great results. I am not a fan of moisturisers in pots however which is my only real turn off.
